Welcome !

Welcome to Troop 80

Troop 80 Boy Scouts and Troop Leaders would like to extend you a warm welcome.  Whether you are joining Troop 80, working towards completion of WEBELOS Activity requirements, or just looking to observe scouts in action, you are always welcome.

The adventure begins at the first meeting and continues through activities in the great outdoors: camping, swimming, boating, hiking, nature, and science.  Along the way you will learn leadership and organizational skills.  Personal growth will be attained through service projects.

As a member of the Boy Scouts of America, a World Organization, you are entitled to participate in international scouting events around the world.

Troop 80 is part of the Ojibwa District of the Great Lakes Council, Boy Scouts of America.

New Website

Posted on Jan 24 2012 - 2:09pm

Within the next couple weeks the troop will be moving to a new website host.  Everyone will be sent a user name and password to the new website once we are ready to switch over.  While it will take some time to get used to the changes, the committee decided the new website has more functions, including finances, that would be beneficial to the troop.

Eagle Projects 2012

New Eagle Scout Project Requirements

Attention Scouts, Leaders, and Parents or Guardians:

Eagle Scout rank requirement 5 has been reworded. To support that change, a new Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook has been created. Through Dec. 31, 2011, Scouts have a choice to use either the new workbook or the one it is replacing. Scouts whose Eagle Scout service project has already been approved by the council or district under the former wording of requirement 5—and using the former workbook—should continue with the same workbook. If their project has not yet been approved by the council or district, they may elect to use the revised requirement 5 and the new workbook. Starting Jan. 1, 2012, Eagle Scout candidates—unless they have already submitted a plan for approval by the council or district under the former requirement—will be expected to fulfill the revised service project requirement 5 using the new workbook.
